HEAT-INSULATING MULLITE-SILICEOUS REFRACTORY WOOL
Heat-insulating mullite-siliceous refractory wool is produced by melting of pure aluminum and silicon oxides in electric furnaces with fiber formation by the blowing method.
Zirconium or chrome oxides are introduced into fiber composition to increase the batting application temperature.
This fiber is characterized by good heat-insulating and electrical insulating properties. The material is used as a temperature-compensating one, as well as a main component for refractory product manufacture (boards, cardboard) and shaped products (shells, crucibles, brake blocks)
